Longevists may face some unique challenges

  • food cravings/temptations without the ability to indulge
  • food restrictions
  • stress related to health maintenance
  • less social activities tied to eating
  • artificial poverty
  • awareness and compassion of the suffering of others

 

Some tips for avoiding depression / mood elevation

  • exercise in the outdoors (bike / hike in a park in the morning)
  • pick fresh foods that you love eating every day
  • find a helpful way that calorie restriction and longevity can be rewarding (see motivation)
  • serve others instead of self
  • don't have non family working directly for you, for your profit outside of basic necessities
  • always have something to do on the todo list
  • don't become so wealthy that the need to survive is diminished (understand why some movie stars and Elvis died young)
